Description
This is my 1947 Bentley Mark V1. It has a full family history from new in all private and business use and has been looked after by well known specialists from new. A massive history file from new!
Far too much to write here but the short version is that it has been used and registered here in the UK and Ireland with the same transferable number plate from new and an all matching numbers car thus free movement between UK and Europe (For tax purposes both sets of documents are current).
Registered here in Wick, Bristol with a V5c and all old tax discs which will show continual usage with only a short lay up during Covid.
The car left the factory as a black car but had a glass out bare metal re spray about 40 years ago and still looks as beautiful with the glass like paint finish and hand painted coach lines.
Following the short period of storage it has received a brake overhaul, new valve seats and a carb rebuild and full service that included the complete cooling system and all other fluids.
The windscreen had a small leak on the passengers side and it has now had new rubbers and a new new screen so is as good as new. A new battery has been fitted to ensure it still starts first time as always. Tool tray and large tools in the boot. All the keys work and it has the factory fitted bonnet locks from new. period correct radio. I drove this car around the village before taking the pictures outside of my home.
The vast file includes pictures from new and with the chauffeur also the original home garage with all work done written on the panelling on the wall! A fully lined fitted cover comes with the car which has always been used and protected the car from sun damage so whilst the cover has faded in places the car has not! The wheel arches and all the usual places of rust on these cars is clean and clear of any rust and will put much more expensive cars to shame.
No part exchanges it is only for sale due to health issues and if you spend more than £10, 000 I doubt you will find a more honest and solid car as this. Delivery is possible any where in Europe so please ask for an 'at cost' price to your door.
