RD350LC 1983 Mars bar black
This classic 80's icon was imported from Germany. It has been ground up restored with incredible attention to detail to original specification by Daryll at IDP Moto.
IDP Moto restored all of the Yamaha Pro am bikes for the 2015 revival , info can be found on youtube search race against time pro am revival.
Daryll was contacted by MCN as they wanted his input on a special 40 year anniversary of the RD350. This bike was used as the definitive example with a two page spread and I have the original MCN.
The bike has been registered now as Tax and Mot exempt. I am the first UK owner after IDP registered it.
It has covered only 1482 miles, it has been stored in a dehumidified garage and has turned into a bit of a Garage queen hence the reason for sale. I do ride it regularly but not enough, this bike needs to be ridden and enjoyed. It turns heads, if you go to a bike meet you will be surrounded by many guys who " had one of these back in the day" and " fair play to you for riding it ".
I think this is the best example available for sale today , it is like buying a new RD350lc . It handles surprisingly well for an 80's design but no surprise to anyone that had one of these bikes back in the day. The motor is very crisp and responsive and it pulls like a train in the powerband.
The only non original spec parts are the EBC green pads which ebc made especially for the Pro am series and the tyres are modern continental and not boxy hedge finders. One owner from restoration. Frame and engine matching numbers.
Cover 1482 miles since restoration. Engine was run in for 500 miles
