Documented and genuine 32000 miles from new. This completely original car was first registered on 01 May 1973 and delivered to Liverpool. ‘TDJ 770L’ would have just 2 keepers until it was purchased by its third owner, an R J Gourley, also living in Liverpool in August 1975 at just two years old. The car would remain with Gourley for the majority of its life, for some 42 years between 1975 and 2017. During his ownership, the car covered
14, 374 miles and was dry-stored in his single garage and used sparingly.
Unique time warp example.
Completely original UK RHD car with original factory paintwork. Some localised areas of corrosion showing now, but incredible for a 51 year old British Ford. This is due to the car always being garaged and from such little mileage driven in all those years.

The interior is incredible and the seats hardly look sat on. The engine sounds fantastic and the car drives really well with a very smooth gearbox. There is a slight blowing from the exhaust, which may possibly be the original?
It has the 6 dial dash being the luxury 1300 XL model.
The car now has a really nice general patina with some localised bits that could be improved, but luckily they have never been messed around with or repaired before.
The car could be kept as it is, as it must be the most original UK mark 1 Escort left in existence, or alternatively could be sympathetically improved whilst keeping its originality.
Of course the car would make a fantastic option for a full restoration to concours standard as it is such a straight and original starting point, although some enthusiasts might prefer to keep the originality of the car intact.
A car can only be original once and this 51 year old car is ridiculously original!
