1963 11 window VW Splitscreen for Sale.
Bailey our 1963 VW Splitscreen is reluctantly for sale. This camper was extensively upgraded by specialists builder as we wanted the classic look but the comfort and safety to enjoy the drive. It had covered 9000 miles since. We have other vehicles and with a young family are not getting to use them all as we would like so we are reluctantly putting Bailey up for sale.
The upgrades were carried out using VW specialist upgrades and only genuine VW parts. This vehicle has wanted for nothing and only the best parts have been used.
Built and fully assembled in Germany and shipped to Texas USA in 1963. The vehicle was then brought to the U. K and registered and licensed here. This is a genuine German built VW Splitscreen not a Brazilian or South African assembled Splitscreen.
Every cable, grommet, seal, bearing nut and bolt has been gone through and the camper is in fantastic condition.
Full high end camper interior, designed and built in uk. With a full width rock and roll bed, Vanwurks kitchen, including dual burner, sink with running tap, 240/ 12v fridge freezer, hidden 240/ 12v TV with dvd and Amazon fire stick for streaming, mobile wifi, retro sounds classic radio with option to connect phone to stream music. All surrounded with a high end two tone upholstery with period suede headliner.
Rebuilt 1600cc engine with NOS Pict 34 carb installed. Red 9 design independent front suspension, rack and pinion steering and disk brake system alongside upgraded independent rear suspension. Gearbox rebuilt and upgraded to IRS version and this camper will happily sit at 60 mph and can comfortably carry 5 passengers.
The camper overall and it’s interior is truly exceptional for a true classic.

Engine bay Fire suppression system fitted for piece of mind.
Smoke and CO2 monitors/ alarms fitted for peace of mind.
Full split charge relay system installed along with PMS power management system. Can be powered of mains or campsite connection or can be powered by engine whilst driving or leisure battery where no hookup is available.
As previously mentioned, literally every nut, bolt, cable and seal has been gone through.
The Campervan has just been serviced, oil change, new oil filter, valve clearances set, timing adjusted, brakes checked and is ready for adventures.

Campervan is Mot and tax exempt, however to give the buyer peace of mind it comes with a fresh MOT.

This camper is left hand drive and having driven it all over Scotland, England and wales have never had any issue due to the great visibility through the 11 windows. It is really a fantastic driving experience compared to a normal Splitscreen or bay window.
This is a fantastic camper and we have had fantastic memories in it, were not desperate to sell and the asking price is quite a bit under the restoration and upgrade cost so please only get in contact if you are seriously considering purchase.
