Mercedes W123 230E 4 speed Manual 1982 Historic Rally prepared
Selling my Historic Rally prepared Mercedes W123, i bought this car last year with the specific reason to enter it in to the Hero-Era Artic Midnight Sun Rally through Scandinavia and up to the Artic Circle from Gothenburg and finishing in Oslo 2 weeks later, we made it without any issues some 4800 miles including driving from UK and then back again. it did not miss a beat. The factory spec on this car is very good with central Locking, Electric Windows all Round, Factory A/ C, Decent Stereo System 4 speakers.
After buying it I sent it to a well known Mercedes specialist for a check over and his view was that it would drive to the moon and back.
It has full FIVA paperwork and was inspected and approved as a historic vehicle( you need this for historic Rallying)
There was a lot of money spent on this car before i bought it with all new Radiator and all hoses, new disc brakes all round and a lot of the bushes were also replaced, it has been undesealed from new and is rust free etc etc and the metallic Blue paintwork is in excellent condition there are lots of bills and invoices to support this hence it was the right car for me, specially as it was a manual version which is very rare.
I have now decided to buy a 450SLC 5. 0 so this is the reason for the sale
I basically spent 6 months preparing the car and the following is not a exhaustive list of the works carried out
New Exhaust system front to back with skid plates to the Silencers, also its well tucked up out of the way
Fully refurbished Wheels good tyres
4 wheel alignment carried out
Sump Guard (original factory item)
H&R Lowered Springs (about 30mm)
Bilestein Shock absorbers all round
New Braded Brake hoses and Brembo Pads, Brake fluid also flushed and Racing Fluid used
Full Service, engine Gearbox and Diff oil change, spark plugs and all new belts
Whole car is fully Dyno matted to ensure its as quiet as can be
4 point Harnesses for driver and navigator
Original Front seats were rebuilt and extra padding inserted they are very comfortable
Radio with Bluetooth for music and phone connection, electric Ariel
Full Factory A/ C from new, this has been fully refurbished by specialist with new compressor and condenser
Common problem on these is that the rear window leaks this has been taken out and repaired and refitted with new Window rubbers
New Rubber Doors seals all round
Alternator refurbished
New Wipers
Auxillary Revcounter fitted
Period Cibie spots installed with a bespoke stainless bracket
Bonnet catches
Brantz rally meter with both GPS and wheel sensor (cost nearly 1K)
Mudflaps all round
Dished Rally Steering wheel for better control
Current MOT until Dec24
If you are looking for a comfortable competitive car this is a good choice its not super powerful but handles well and is plenty powerful enough for these events, alternatively use it for pleasure, its tax free, MOT exempt, ULEZ exempt and Congestion Charge exempt and cost less than £200 per year to insure please feel free to call me if you need any further information.
