Description
1965 Ford Mustang Fastback in Diablo Metallic Red with Black Interior, 289ci V8 ‘A’ Code, 5-Speed Manual Gearbox, Torque Thrust Alloys. Built at the Dearborn, Michigan plant on September 15th 1964, in Rangoon Red with a red crinkle vinyl interior and fitted with a 4-speed manual gearbox, the car spent its life in Tennesee until imported into the UK in 2016. At which time it was bought from the importer by the current owner and correctly registered with DVLA with a personal registration number. The car was subjected to an extensive restoration between 2018 and 2020, with a comprehensive file of history and receipts in support. Only 2, 300 miles done since restoration completed. As part of the restoration, the transmission was changed from 4-speed to 5 speed manual, the front brakes converted from drum to disc, a Borgeson power steering system fitted and the body colour changed to metallic red. The electrical system was completely overhauled with a new American autowire loom, grille mounted fog lights and led rear lights giving an orange turn indicator colour. A complete new interior in black was installed with headlining, carpets and seat covers. The interior, trunk and engine bay have been kept as near as possible to original appearance, externally with the exception of the Torque Thrust alloy wheels the car retains a largely stock appearance, and must rate as one of the best examples of the marque in the UK.
The car will come with a new MOT, and the personal registration number currently on the vehicle will be retained by the seller and an age-related number issued.
