Description

1930 BSA B30-4. A well restored twin-port OHV bike which is almost finished.

Frame re-painted in 2 pack. New black powder-coated 19” wheel rims, new spokes and tyres. Fuel tank cleaned and sealed internally using Frost POR-15, newly professionally painted in pale green (it is a RAL colour) 2 pack with new decals and lacquered. New Brooks seat. New cables.

Gearbox rebuilt with new mainshaft and sleeve gear (now internally bushed which the originals were not). Engine rebuilt and recently fitted with new valves (very hard to get now) and guides. Correct carburettor. New exhausts and Brooklands style cans. Clutch rebuilt with all new plates, nicely painted primary drive cover.

Not yet run, but the only reason being in my opinion the spark from the Mag/ generator is a bit weak. The options would be to have it re-built, or to forget a charging system and fit a good magneto. I am including a very good BTH KD1 magneto with new points and a strong spark which is the correct rotation (clockwise for this bike) plus the correct size toothed pinion if you want to go this way. It would make a nice conversion.

Comes with a few spares including a spare matched set of engine crankcases in very good condition; rare again.

There is a number plate holder intended for side mounting but not yet fitted. No lights fitted at present. V5 is present and in my name. All in all a very pretty and well-presented rare lightweight bike that would be an easy finish to get it on the road.
