2001 (e39) BMW 525i SE Touring (Auto), 53k miles & fsh.
A genuine, low mileage and wonderful example of BMW’s e39 Touring. We are the 2nd owners from new with the 1st being the owner of the BMW main dealers (Murketts) of Huntingdon back in the day. We purchased the car with just over 46k miles. The CoC was obtained from BMW last year making this Touring lez/ ulez compatible.
Finished in metallic Bluewater with grey leather interior, this SE was also specified with comfort electric/ heated seats with memory, electric glass sunroof, heated electric mirrors as well as the usual climate control, cruise, total closure, SLS, etc.
Over and above the normal servicing, the car has had brand new Sachs sport (BMW spec) dampers all round with new front drop links and matching front springs. The factory self levelling rear air springs are still in place and perform as they should. All brakes were replaced within the last 5k miles and a brake fluid change done also. The gearbox has been serviced and the diff oil replaced too.
1 year ago, a set of fully rebuilt (o. e.) BBS RC090 split rim wheels were fitted with new Falken tyres. These set the car off beautifully and are completely unmarked. The only other improvement we made was an upgraded head unit (that closely matches BMW’s of the time) with DAB+, BT steaming, thumb drive and telephone. The front door speakers were replaced with Focal components and the doorcards were fitted with sound deadening material.
A few years ago, I removed all the inner wheel arches and surrounding underbody trims, washed and cleaned underneath (lots of pics of this) and protected with Bilt Hamber clear underbody wax. This also went into the sills and chassis members. There is no rust anywhere on this e39!
In June of this year, on top of the usual servicing of oil/ filter etc, we had a new thermostat, water pump, viscous fan clutch, idler pulley and fresh coolant all completed too. Brand new genuine BMW mats were also fitted replacing the originals which are also available.
The car will revert back to its original no. (we still have the 23 year old dealer plates), Full book pack, 2 keys with Murketts key fobs!, the original order forms with specifications and pricing. Even the extremely rare buff BMW folder remains together with previous mot’s and receipts for all jobs completed. In some of the pictures you will note the original 16” alloys that are also available if preferred. The complete tool kit remains.
Saying find another generally sounds a bit naff, but it is genuinely lovely. The car presents without fault. Lots more info and pictures for interested parties. Lovely original low miles low ownership car.
