Description
1984 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit
Finished in stunning Royal Blue to which sadly the pictures do not do justice this is a great everyday useable example of the model. For the past 12+ years this car has been owned by a gentleman who worked overseas and that when home would use the car as his daily driver, spending it’s downtime in the care of a professional car storage company. Always garaged yet used frequently has lead to an excellent life of exercise and maintenance with any issues immediately rectified. Around 8 years ago both sides of the car were restored and repainted to prevent the advancement of corrosion, the work was carried out by a Rolls Royce trained body specialist to a very high standard. There are one or two small blemishes around the vehicle but overall the body and brightwork are in great condition.
I am happy to say that all mechanical and electrical systems function as they should this includes the air conditioning and the cruise control. The car drives without fault and has recently benefitted from new fuel lines, fuel pumps and both carburetors stripped and cleaned. Starts every time first time with the automatic chokes working as they should. The v8 pulls well and sounds lovely, the gearbox is very smooth and the kickdown works correctly. It is also worth mentioning that recently a downpipe back stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted, this is a twin left & right hand side system in keeping with the original set-up. There is of course a large amount of paperwork, invoices and history along with the original handbook bookpacks, all relevant documentation and the RR toolkit in the boot. Over recent years the car has been looked after by the well respected PJG Rolls & Bentley independent specialist in Bristol.
The interior is complete and intact with no missing trim, the door cappings are in good order as are the carpets, rear footrests and door panels. There is a full set of lambs wool over mats that are also in good order if a little faded in places. The electric seats and mirrors work as they should. The piped leather shows signs of wear commensurate with age but is as you can see from the photos free from any major imperfections and overall very tidy with the seats retaining their support and comfort, the headrests are also in good order.
On the 4th of December 2024 the car turns 40 years old, this heralds the beginning of historic car status meaning no future requirement for road tax, mot tests or the payment of ulez / caz charges. You may need to look into the exact specifics of when these things are valid but it’s a nice little addition to ease of ownership.
To sum up: This is a Silver Spirit that was required to work and has been looked after and maintained to that end, it is not a concourse queen but it is a very sound fully functioning example in very nice presentable order - It’s lovely to drive and attracts lots of positive comments. I originally bought it as it was offered to me on a good deal by the previous long-term owner and have enjoyed my problem free time with it, I have a small private car collection which I am looking to slim down as I am struggling to find the time to use them all, it is offered for sale at a very reasonable price.
I am happy to answer any sensible questions and viewing is highly recommended. The car is professionally stored near to Junction 20 of the M5 Clevedon, North Somerset (Bristol).
