Description
This is my lovely Mercedes W126 300 SE
In Grey with matching Grey Velour cloth interior and walnut dash.
I purchased the car 4 years ago from a local man who purchased it new from JR Tagger Watford in 1991. This was his pride and joy but at 97 had decided to give up driving.
The car has been garaged it's entire life and it shows.
I purchased the car on 93, 000 miles and it had been off the road for some time prior to COVID. It's now displaying 98, 000 miles being used as our daily driver.
It's sailed through its last few MOT's with no issues and my local garage, Marsh Motors St Albans have carried out lots of work in recent years.
This a completely useable classic and draws lots of attention, its very comfortable and returns quite good economy on long runs.
The interior has no rips, tears or burns. The cigarette lighter and ash trays have never been used, the dash has no cracks and the original Melbourne Blaupankt stereo is still working, the first aid kit is still in place along with the tool kit and original Uniroyal spare will.
The electric windows and roof work perfectly as does the central locking I also have all 3 keys including the valet key.
The body work is lovely apart from the usual places on the front wings, the drivers side is the worst one but I have a new replacement which is included in the sale. The passenger side is repairable. This is the only rust in the entire car. I have included pictures of all 4 arches and the underneath of her and demonstrates the benefit of being garage for over 30 years.
The work I have carried out over the past few years includes:
Bumper chrome all restored front and rear which looks fantastic, work carried out by a chroming company in north London.
Aircon adapted to work with the new gas.
New pads and discs all round
Brake pipes
Rebuilt calipers
Rear drop links
New water pump
Full service including leads, plugs and fuel filter @ 93, 000 miles
New tyres all round (Kuhmo tyres)
4 Alloys refurbished
MOT'd
I also have a wealth of history with the car including original book pack, service books and build sheet.
This is a lovely, lovely car and with 2 new wings would make an even better car.
I am using it as my daily driver and it's a real pleasure to drive and wafts around, however I don't have enough space in my garage and have also just inherited my father in law's car so will be using this instead.
This Mercedes is lovely, it's almost perfect and with a tiny amount of work would be stunning, remember it's had one owner for most of its life who cherished it.
Any questions please let me know.
