FOR SALE - LANDROVER FREELANDER TD4 SE with careful lady owner.
Hi there and thanks for looking at our Landrover Freelander SE TD4.
It's a great car - it's got a sound, strong engine and pulls well. The gearbox is smooth and tight, feeling like new. I have towed my small boat on a trailer with it effortlessly. It's a tall vehicle with great all round vision and makes my wife feel safe in traffic. We're only selling as we've been given another car and no longer need this one. It's just rolled over 98k miles, which is low for the year. I must point out the car will continue to be used so the milage will increase. It has a factory towbar and two 7-terminal sockets. It has a half-leather interior in tan, which is lovely and pretty clean and tidy. There is an aftermarket center console armrest with storage inside, which makes long journeys even more comfortable. We did a long 2000 mile journey around northern France with it, last summer and it behaved faultlessly.
It returns about 39 mpg on a cruise, which is pretty good for 'permanent four wheel drive'. It has all the usual SE refinements, aircon, all the seatbelts, heated seats, a large glass 'slide/ tilt' sunroof, electric mirrors, CD/ radio, electric driver's seat, cruise control etc etc.
The exterior bodywork is mostly in good order but does have a few scratches on the front nearside wing and the nearside bonnet above. It's just surface scratching but is visible - no corrosion. There are a few other small dents and scratches as shown in the photos - full disclosure.
In the dashboard, the battery light is illuminating. Having replaced both the battery and the alternator recently, it turns out it's the 'tell-back' wire from the alternator (this informs the car whether the alterator current is strong enough to charge the battery). The car runs fine and charges, but the system doesn't recognise this, hence it lights up. It did 2000 miles across France without issue. Our local Landrover specialist has quoted us £150+VAT to fix this by routing a new tell-back wire.
The price has been reduced to reflect the minor work required.
This is a private sale so no warranty offered or implied. It's offered at less than several other cars on here with higher mileage and a test drive is thoroughly recommended. It's a brilliant car for the winter too, being very 'sure footed' in the wet.
Any questions or to arrange a test drive, feel free to email or call.
No canvassers or onward sellers, thank you.
We live just south of Norwich, in Norfolk, UK, in the NR14 area. Previously owned by a friend of ours, the lady used it sparingly towing her livestock around. She was perhaps less than careful, shall I say, hence there are small scratches on the front nearside wing, and the occasional minor ding in the bodywork (see pics). We've owned the car for about 3 years and loved it, but a family member has given us another car, so this one is now no longer needed.
It's an excellent family car, versatile and useful in all environments and with a powerful, reliable engine. It's low mileage for the year, and has had the full cambelt kit replacement only last year. A large boot and towbar mean it can do almost anything you need of a vehicle and in comfort. The aircon is super and the heated seats are a delight in winter.
