This beautifully presented late production, Aug '91, Volkswagen Golf GTI was originally sold through the VAG dealership J. E. F Waltham Cross was clearly well specified when new, with the car having the following specification:

Finished In Alpine White this 'Big Bumper' Mk2 Golf GTI remains is in very good condition, with panel gaps consistent with Volkswagens high build quality. All the rubbers, side trims, wheel arch plastics and the bumpers have resisted any bleaching, suggesting she has been garaged through her life and with the exception of the odd minor mark, none of which detract from her condition.
Consummate with the exterior condition the interior is just as it left the factory, no after-market speaker holes etc. The seats, in the rarer Ultraviolet fabric are free from any marks, the fabric throughout is free from any creasing and the front seat bolsters still remain firm. The dash area remains free from any damage and the MFA (trip computer) remains fully functional.
The boot area shows the car to be all original, with the Volkswagen FirstAid kit, tool-kit, warning triangle all in place with the all important Volkswagen 'build' sticker is present on the rear panel, matching exactly the one placed on the inside of the service book.
Mechanically this Golf GTI has obviously been cherished too. With the CAT 2 immobiliser deactivated the 1. 8 litre, 8 valve engine fires without hesitation and settles into a smooth idle. Out on the open road the GTI performs exactly as expected with the 8 valve providing smooth power delivery through the crisp 5 speed gearbox.
