This is a 3 owner TR3A that started life in the UK and quickly found its way with the second owner in the early 60's to France where it was loved, cossetted and well used for 50+ years until the owners death. It was polished, repaired, scuffed and scratched but maintained and kept on the road for the entire time, never undergoing a full restoration. To look at her now you'd be happy to park her in any supermarket carpark, she shows her age but wears it well.
However since I have owned her(8years I think) mechanically she has be updated, repaired restored, refurbished extensively. Last year she had a £5k engine rebuild and upgrade now turning out just shy of 100BHP. All the brakes, hubs and bearing were done and disc brakes on the front. Revotech fan, electronic ignition, new starter and dynamo and control box the charging even works now. Track rod ends replaced, the list is endless and the box of receipts weighty. There is a new soft top and good tonneau and side screens, tyres and wheels are good, new stainless steel exhaust and a long MOT.
In July ? August we did a two week trip in blistering heat through northern Spain and Southern France without issue, just to indicate that she really is a wolf in sheeps clothing. This is a car that looks her age but can easily hold her own in modern traffic. She is reliable and comfortable.
