Description
Hello and thanks for looking. Here is my RX 8 PZ in Galaxy Grey: One of 320 in grey modified by Prodrive. I bought this car with a view to restore her including an engine re-build, owing to the fact they are becoming very rare and they are one of my favourite RX 8's.
The car has done very few miles since it last MOT which it past with no advisories and has been in dry storage since (and still is). It still starts cold and hot however it has had such little driving over the months (none owing to my ill health) it needs a little re-commissioning. The "car running" pictures are from last week and include 'hot starts'. Please note I have changed the number plate back from HP56 CPZ and the original registration plate is now in place
She has all the correct badges, center caps etc. As you can see from the pictures this car is a great example that needs restoration. Then only reason I am selling is I bought another PZ in Galaxy Grey that is a little cleaner and had a re-build 6, 000 miles ago (this was done by a very reputable rotary company - my compression readings not really much higher already - it makes a huge difference to replace the irons with new and not just re-surface the old housing and re-build the engine - but the additional cost sometimes makes this prohibitive), ideally if I had the room I would keep both.
The engine was 6. 0-6. 1 on all rota's when I bought her and their have only been a couple of hundred miles driven before storage.
Bodywork - everything pretty clear in the photos. I think around 400 -£700 on this will have the "rust" and paintwork sorted (obviously cheaper if you are doing yourself). The wheels will need refurbishing (the picture shows one of four all in similar condition), badges restoring, all relatively low cost works. And then at some point the engine. I don't believe this engine has been rebuilt at any time previously (which is a good news) - looking back through receipts etc (sorry there was no service book when I bought this). I also don't believe the starter motor has been upgraded which is something I would have done in the interim and for the future. She does have the familiar thrust bearing noise that all my 231's have made. She's recently had plugs and service (oil and filter change) and a few other bits done.
Interior is mint apart from dreaded crack dashboard by the passengers air bag. The one I recently bought had carbon fiber tape over this and it looked really smart (cheap fix).
She comes with three keys and lots of receipts. The car has been well maintained, premixed, serviced as it should be etc
If I had the space and my health was better I would keep both and drive and restore alternatively but situation forces me to sell her - HAS TO GO!Overall I bought her as a driving and usable car to restore and have as a keeper (I just love rotaries despite their temperament).
This car has the beautiful cream (very rare in PZ's) interior. It has also been fitted with Apple Car Play and a reversing camera. I have also purchased and original RX'8 unit should you wish to keep her as purchased. I really do love this car and I know it will make someone Rotary Enthusiast very happy - as mentioned, this HAS to go so hit me up!
Any questions most welcome and I will answer everything as honestly and open as possible.
