Offered for sale is my 1986 Volvo 340 1. 7 manual. I purchased this earlier this year from the original owner and am the second owner from new. It's a typical cliche, one old gentleman owned since new and gave up driving due to age!
I own too many cars as much as i hate to admit it, so offering this for sale to concentrate on others.
Good bits:
One owner from new before me, with lots and lots of history!
Runs and drives well.
Good condition for it's age. Appears very solid with previous welding done to one side, but looks to be a good standard.
Low mileage for it's age. Odometer works so believe this to be genuine.
Interior very tidy.
MOT so can drive home.
Not so good bits:
Short MOT and i can't be arsed putting it through. I don't see any obvious reasons why it wouldn't pass, but i have another car in for MOT at same time as well as repairs to another needed, so won't be putting it through one.
Rattle from underside which conincides with prop engaging. I think it's a heat shield or something rattling when prop starts spinning. Prop itself appears straight and true with no play. But i'm not mechanic. Still runs and drives fine, changes gear okay etc, but just a noise to be aware of.
Interior fan temperamental.
Stereo doesn't appear to work.
Marks consummate with age but no real damage to speak of. Just some car park trolley dings hear and there.
It could probably do with a timing belt. History of having had changes previously but i would do one now with age. Although looks okay from visual inspection.
I think the drivers side rear brake is binding a bit from little use.
It genuinely is a lovely car and i'm gutted to be selling, but i own too many cars and need to thin down. I'd rather it went to a Volvo enthusiast and not for drifting etc. I'm not interested in any px's or swaps. Sorry.
Car is insured, taxed MOT'd so i welcome any test drives. If it doesn't sell before MOT expires i will gladly keep it and put it in storage. I won't entertain any stupid offers but am open to reasonable offers.
