Description
1948 Francis-Barnett Merlin, 125cc single cylinder twin port.
3 speed hand gear change. Very rare little bike!!!
I have owned the bike since 1978 when the engine last run.
it was last taxed for the road in 1971 (see tax disc).
I had most of the paint work stove enamelled and lacquered in 1978.
The engine I have never touched as I had to assemble the bike quickly in order to move house/ work etc and a growing family.
I therefore have never had/ have the time to revisit the bike.
I have the original buff logbook, V5C and original parts book along with the Villiers engine maintenance book.
This bike would be great for any "Man-Cave" (private collection) and to take to shows.
I'm told by 'Villiers services' that all engine parts for the 9D engine are available on the shelf.
So if you are genuinely interesting in a cheap historic motorcycle this could be for you.
ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK. This is a very rare little bike that captures the manufacturing era post WWII. Following the original factory being destroyed by the Luftwaffe early in the war.
