Description
"Vera" has been one of the family for the past 4 years, but times change. She's a 1970, Adderley Park built Traveller in Glacier White. Complete with a hand-built and exceptional 1275+ Midget engine and 5-speed Sierra type 9 gearbox, with a 4:2 differential, she can hold her own in town or on the open road. The engine has been set up for "fast road" with complimentary fuel pump to meet the demands of the Hif 44 carb. The engine itself was stripped and acid dipped to bare block, overbored to +60, end to end balanced, and fitted with components including: Diecast Omega pistons on MaXspeeding Conrods, MED HT Camshaft with chilled iron followers, Vernier adjustable timing chain, MED Billet Pushrods and ARP fasteners. The 12G940 cylinder head was port and ported and polished, and fitted with hardened valve guides. MED double valve springs, roller-tipped 1:3:1 rockers and ARP head studs. Disc brakes, stainless steel exhaust, and banded steel wheels with good tyres make her a safe classic choice for UK roads. The interior is red, and the front seats are MGF (and very comfortable on long drives). There are no visible bodywork issues, and the wood, while may need replacing in 10 years or so, does not show its age. Purchased as a lockdown project, and the engine fitting well-documented (and prize winning) at the NEC in 2022, she has a current MOT and successfully attended Minors-On-Tour with ease, covering 2k miles in around 10 days every time, not to mention regular rallies and events around the UK.
Regularly serviced and maintained by a specialist, her current custodian is seeking a new guardian who will enjoy her in the future. Large history file with receipts. In summary, it has all the sensible modifications that make it her a very useable and reliable piece of British car manufacturing history. Viewing recommended, and sensible questions welcome.
