Hello all.
For sale here is a Toyota MR2 Turbo Rev1 with the Ferrari kit which is finished very well.
It has numerous Ferrari details like the headrest stitching and badges all round, a signed Michael Schumacher badge by the gear stick, white interior.
The car is bright red with 140, 000km/ 88, 000m and has an MOT until 24/ 05/ 2025 (I can renew this).
It is a 1991 model which was imported in 2004.
It has a turbo timer and alarm/ immobiliser fitted (which is extremely loud with two sirens boxes). It has a new CT26 turbo installed so is quick now, so quick in fact that it is over boosting.
This now needs to be set up properly using the pressure sensors/ guages etc. It is currently overboosting at the very top of the range and fuel cut is kicking in which is reset by turning ignition off briefly or pulling the ECU fuse for 10 seconds to clear the the fault code (which is code 34 by the way).
As mentioned it is at the top of the boost. If you leave about 1cm between the pedal and the floor it's fine.
My suggestions (one of the following in order of sensibility):
Get it set up at a tuners.
Adjust the actuator arm.
Change the actuator spring.
Disconnect t-vsv.
Disconnect the pressure sensor.
The only other jobs you may want to do (if you're really fussy) is the small black front grille where the horse is located is not curved up at the edges to match the bumper line. If it was noticeable, I would have changed it. The bodywork is good with only two areas you may want to smooth over, again it never bothered me and the boot/ engine lid hydraulic rods are starting to give in sometimes.
I am going to regret letting this go as I was looking at these for years before buying because I kept coming across examples that were not to great. This one in my opinion is a good one and It's always put a big smile on my face when driving it. You will be constantly noticed, asked for pictures. I was also asked for a YouTube interview at a meeting. Also be prepared to have your better half in it with another lady standing at your door smiling at you... awkward.
It unfortunately is at the top of the list to let go as I will soon be losing my off road hiding place for it and I am very busy with another car, two boats, a motorbike and work.
