Description
First registered 04. 10. 1974, this car has only had 5 owners from new.
Stored for 19 years from 1986 to 2005, the car then had a full professional restoration. The extensive history file (including receipts, photographs, MOT and servicing history) illustrates that this is a much loved car. Featuring in "Triumph World" further endorses the work carried out. MOT'd regardless of Historic Vehicle status, mileage is recorded on MOT's as follows:
1980: 48, 372 1981: 54, 602 82: 60, 036 83: 66, 124 85: 70, 312
86: 71, 186 87: 74, 359 2007: 74, 480 08: 75, 484 10: 78, 107 11: 79, 372 12: 80, 384 13: 81, 198 14: 82, 317 15: 82, 741 16: 83, 027 17: 83, 727
18: 84, 350 19: 85, 035 21: 85, 311 22: 86, 345.
Refer to the photographs and you will see the full engine out restoration and the rebuilt engine being installed (re-bored and crank reground), the car has covered little over 15, 000 miles since. Having been incorrectly stored in recent years the paintwork blistered in places. Therefore, to bring the car back to it's full glory it has recently undergone a full body bare metal respray future proofed with an epoxy primer base layer and Supaguard polymer sealant - a brilliant finish in Carmine Red.
The best combination of manual gearbox with overdrive, the engine sounds beautiful. The underside of the car is immaculate (receiving compliments from the MOT test house), steering rack has been refurbished, engine serviced, wheels polished and riding on a set of matching tyres. Complete with an original matching hard top, this is a fantastic Stag that is ready to drive and enjoy for many years to come. Any inspection welcome. Please contact me for more information, pictures or video. Thank you. My favourite thing about this Stag is the manual gearbox - it really is the ideal combination with the V8 engine as it provides the ideal drive down country roads. It sounds fantastic with the big bore stainless steel exhaust.
