Stunning Red 230ce.
I searched for a W123 CE for a considerable time to acquire the right car with the right specification, I only wanted a 230 and also manual windows rather than electric, a relatively low mileage was also a must. The car was bought with the intention of keeping it and passing it on to a son but circumstances have changed for me and I unfortunately have to let it go.
The car is in exceptional condition inside, outside and underneath with zero corrosion. Meticulously maintained regardless of cost with only genuine parts used.
The car drives beautifully as it was delivered from the factory nearly 40 years ago, starting with the first turn of key, a true driving pleasure and sure to be the only one in the car park.
The car has a factory metal electric sunroof ( fully serviced), electric passenger mirror and importantly manual windows . The pnuematic system which controls the central locking and seat backs works faultlessly as it should.
I mentioned the car has original parts, I have sympathetically upgraded the stereo to offer hands free telephone and a better quality of sound front and rear but of course the original Becker stereo is still with the car as is the original speakers. Full genuine Mercedes tool kit and even the original First Aid kit, all present and correct. I purchased the car from renowned Mercedes W123 specialist W123 World in 2020 where it had undergone considerable work to bring it to their high standard with parts amounting to £5560. 00.
Some of the work carried out by W123 World included, fuel line and feed replaced, brake disc backing plates replaced, Mercedes battery, Bosch fuel pump, rear Sub Frame bushing kit, Brake Master Cylinder replaced, 20 wheel bolts, steering damper replaced, brake hoses replaced, rear brake service and pads, diff service, Auto transmission service, HT Lead set, Front lower ball joints replaced, upper suspension control arms, front downpipes and center section replaced, Beru electric arial, wheel alignment, under body wax protection and cavity and engine bay wax.
The original 14'' Mercedes rims were refurbished and fitted with new Michelin tyres. The spare wheel was also refurbished and a new tyre fitted. The genuine Mercedes issued jack is present in the boot.
There was quite a bit more work and serviced over and above what I've listed.
The work didn't end there and once in my ownership the brake calipers were refurbished, rear shock absorbers replaced, headlights upgraded, petrol tank fuel strainer replaced and the aforementioned stereo replacement/ upgrade.
I believe this to be the best W123 coupe for sale coupled with what I feel is the best trouble free specification. It would be a superb addition to any collection or as a stand alone weekend car and such is its incredible reliability and turn of speed a daily driver.
Approaching 40 years old the car will soon be Road fund exempt and even MOT exempt.
The car has a guaranteed value for insurance purposes and is also ULEZ compliant.
