Description
Granada Mk2, 2. 8 GL Saloon, Pre-facelift. Finished in Ford Diamond White with tan leather seats, dark chocolate dash with matching tan & dark chocolate door cards. This Granada has power steering, central locking and sunroof, all in great working order. Only 3 previous owners from new. Current owner since 2016 (purchased from a classic car auction in Perthshire) with mileage correct inspection. The Granada is MOT and Tax exempt, however current owner takes no exception to having it MOT's for peace of mind as part of sale agreement. The seller is prepared to negotiate as room is required for another dream classic. Granada was put into dry storage when purchased (2016), and subject to full recommissioning and refurbishment between the years 2021 and 2023 before venturing on the road.
Albeit there is little history with the Granada, mileage validation included meticulous inspection of the following items described as "immaculate and commensurate" with a 29k miles car.
1) Original windscreen with green sun band, virtually unmarked and as new.)
2) Leather seats that are uncut and have no worn springs.
3) Door cards as new with no speaker holes.
4) Dashboard and instruments unmarked.
5) Steering wheel still has its nobble grain.
6) Carpets with very little wear.
7) Smooth running engine with "as new" compression and oil pressure.
8) Auto gearbox very smooth with no known knocks or rattles.
9) The following common Granada corrosion areas were confirmed as 100% in good order:
a) Front and Rear scuttle panels below glass.
b) Inner door sills
c) Jacking points
d) Rear valance
e) Inner wings
Recommission during 2021 included fitting of brand new discs, pads callipers, brake cylinders, brake shoes with refurbishment of master cylinder and testing or servo. The engine was given a full service, with oil, filters, plugs, leads and distributor replaced. The C3 automatic gearbox has had its sump dropped with the filter and gaskets replaced before filling with new oil.
All wheels were professionally blasted and powder coated and the car is now shod with "as new" Uniroyal Rainsport tyres (all 5 !)
Prior to body being subject to a full respray, mainly due to sun fade and marks commensurate with age the OS front wing and lower front valance were replaced to enhance its perfection. The Granada was professional given several coats of base and clear lacquer that's giving it an almost perfect shine and finish.
This Granada has the typical minor starting issue, however providing the accelerator is not touched (causing it to flood) it starts off the key each time.
It's been at a few shows this year and last, and comments on its condition have been plentiful and very complimentary.
This would make a stunning wedding car or a film car as its condition is described as excellent, testament to its low mileage, high end recommissioning and refurbishment.
