Description
Lotus Elan Plus2S 130/ 5
My lovely Elan Plus2 was registered in July 1973 and has been in my ownership for 20 years, now sitting with 80, 602miles on the clock and has been lovingly cared for during that time but now selling due to advancing years. The car comes with a Certificate of Provenance from Lotus Cars stating it is a special edition model, No. 26 out 115 in JPS colours, but now finished in Carnival Red with original oatmeal interior. Registered as an Historic vehicle so no road tax.
The car was completely restored by Lotus specialist Kelvedon Motors around 1991 for the previous owner. It had a replacement chassis, complete re-spray and new suspension components at that time. The car was always garaged by the previous owner and has continued to be during my ownership. I have a comprehensive history file including MOTs and receipts.
Engine was reconditioned last year. Rebored +20thou with new pistons. New main and big end shells. Cylinder head was overhauled a few years ago with colsibro valve guides. Very little mileage since. Aldon Igniter electronic ignition. The gearbox was overhauled last year by Lotus gearbox specialist Alan Voigts.
Interior is original and in good condition. The seat covers are original and the front seats have had all the foam padding and bottom rubber diaphragms replaced.
The car sports 6J x 14”Minilite wheels with 185/ 60 x 14” tyres. The old rubber rotoflex couplings have been replaced with Sue Miller CV drive shafts giving a smooth and comfortable ride.
Supplied with an original Lotus Workshop Manual, original toolkit and a purpose made tool for removing and tightening the 3 eared spinners.
