For sale is my 1998 Mercedes-Benz SL500 (R129 model) with 92, 800 miles on the clock. Not a car I want to sell, but unfortunately I've ran out of garage space, and some have to go.
First registered in April 1999, this late-model, post-facelift SL500 benefits from all of the various revisions made to the chassis, cabin and engine throughout the R129’s production run. This includes the revised M113 V8 engine, independent front struts, upgraded speed-sensitive power assisted steering, ventilated front brake discs, digital instrument cluster display and face-lifted interior.
Finished in Obsidian Black with a Grey Leather interior, the car is in great condition throughout.

On the inside, everything works, and the air conditioning blows ice cold.
The wheels are unmarked and shod in a matching set of Continental tyres.
Just to be 100% honest, there are a couple of jobs I would do over the winter if I was keeping the car... There is a minor oil drip from the top of the nearside A-pillar, coming from the roof mechanism. I have a new latch mechanism to resolve that, the roof still operates correctly with no issues. There is a minor oil drip from the offside rocker cover, again I have a new pair of rocker cover gaskets ready to fit. Lastly, the under bonnet insulation needs replacing, and I'll supply a new one of those with the car.
The car has had two oil changes since I purchased it in August 2022 with minimal miles being covered. The front bumper was recently repainted so looks very smart, there are a couple of minor stone chips on the bonnet.
The car comes with a massive history folder for previous work carried out.
The last MOT (I'll mention it because you're bound to look it up) flagged up corrosion on the rear subframe, which quite frankly had me horrified (although not all that surprising given how critical our local MOT tester is). However I put the car up on my ramp, and what's under there was nothing more than surface corrosion. It's all been brushed, cleaned and treated with Lanoguard, so is all protected going forwards.
