A truly striking example of an exciting Italian motorcycle worthy of displaying the Ayrton Senna Tribute. Although this is part of my motorcycle collection it has been the most enjoyable summer ride attracting positive comments wherever I take her.
Unfortunately I have a change in my personal circumstances which is forcing me to part with this and several other motor bikes. At 76 yrs old I guess I can’t complain, but no doubt I will.
Apart from the addition of led indicators/ brake light and the amazing sounding Termignoni exhausts, the bike is in its original configuration, apart from the small cigarette burn to the seat, (thanks to Andy) and the very limited general wear and tear reflects the high level of care that has been afforded to it over the last 22 yrs.
She is MOTD until July 2025 and is taxed to date however as I have made the decision to let her go I shall Sorn from end Sept.
Over £1000 receipted work has been undertaken by In Moto and Moto Rapido Ducati Winchester in April 2024.
Amongst the work carried in addition to full fluid and belt checks are replacement fuel pump, filters and front fork oil and dust seals.
They have commented that the injectors would benefit from being cleaned, however the performance is much more than I can handle and I have not undertaken this. Time permitting I will buy some injector treatment and add to the fuel prior to sale.
Tyres, brakes, discs, chain are in excellent condition and apart from the aforementioned injector treatment and 10mm mark to the seat I am not aware of any faults or failings whatsoever.
For those who do not favour the dry clutch sound there is more good news this model has the wet clutch option allowing you to enjoy the rich sound of the Termignoni exhausts. This stunning Italian classic will enhance any motorcycle collection and I believe will become the new owners favourite ride, as it has for me.
You will note from documentation that it has been subject to beyond economical repair, however this decision has been challenged with the Association of British Insurers who confirmed that the insurance valuation of the claim included the damages to the lady owners arm when she came off her bike in a non collision accident. Although the ABI agreed with my complaint The original insurance company would not agree to change the classification because I am not the original owner. This occurred within the first year of ownership and it is clear that the bike would have only suffered superficial damage as any inspection will show.
