A very rare electric start Spanish made Ducati single.
It has a 1980's type electric start engine via a chain and sprag clutch,(all been renewed) in a 1979 frame and body work. I like the wire wheel with Akront rims and Brembo front brake, (all renewed seals, pistons, cables etc). New clutch plates ex Nigel Lacey. Armours stainless exhaust to original pattern.
Owned since 2007 and has had engine and electrical work carried out to make it reliable to start and ride.
Rear Hagon shocks with Betor 35mm front forks and a good braced frame make it handle really well.
Has Avon road rider mk2 tyres and a stainless rear rack.
Paintwork is all ok but is not concours and the fibreglass tank was lined approx 5yrs ago by Ian at Tank Care.
The bike is registered as an Historic vehicle. I new that Mototrans produced several types of Ducati under licence from the Italian factory and really wanted to get hold of an electric start single that worked well. The Red and White colour sheme is my favorite of the type.
This bike was imported into the UK in 1999 and had had several owners. I bought the Ducati as a dubious runner in 2007 as needed a new crank and I stuck with it to get the bike running well.
There are very few of these bikes on the road as those that have been imported from Spain often don't have a working electric start and need a lot of work on the bike.
An eyecatching bike that handles really well and sounds good , not being over loud.
