Description

This Land Rover 300tdi Diesel Hi Top Quad bodied 130 has been in my ownership since 2017. In 2020 is was given a replacement bulkhead, new doors, some outer panels a reconditioned gearbox, the engine was overhauled and its colour went from military shades to Anthracite grey. In 2023 it has had a reconditioned transfer case fitted. It has been used very little in this time, primarily it was used for occasionally carrying boxed Land Rover body panels.
It came to me from British Aerospace and I believe it had been used in the Middle East on the Hawk programme before being brought back to this country. It was painted in Middle East Camouflage colours.
There has been no chassis welding done to it, the other work was done as a ‘COVID’ project except the Transfer case which died. It is fitted with G90 military tyres on Wolf heavy duty steel wheels. An electric 8500lb winch is fitted to the front bumper. This has hardly been used.
The interior has been fitted with the high level radio and cubby shelf, it has also been fitted with a Wright sound deadening system. In the rear body is some lockerage which contains a split charged battery in the rear section for powering 2 x power sockets. It has lights fitted. The other bits and bobs will be removed on sale.
Vehicle wise the chassis is excellent, bulkhead and outer panels excellent, the bonnet has patina in the form of a few dents and scratches, possibly from climbing onto it and then up to a roofrack. This which has been removed from the cab but can be included in the sale if desired. It used to have a Howling Moon tent fitted (not available). On the rear van roof the rails are on there for a ladder and also it can be used as a working platform and also has fittings to take another Roof tent, part being chequer plated. A rear access ladder is fitted to the rear and a swingaway rear spare wheel mount is on the back door.
The rear van sides have been repanelled with new aluminium sheet. At the same time this was carried out insulation was fitted and the steel van body frame was copiously waxoyled. However, underneath the body floor level mainly around the lower wheel arches at the rear need a bit of tlc where there is some corrosion. It does not form part of the MOT though so has been left. The MOT expires in April 2025
This vehicle is absolutely perfect for a camper conversion or a coffee bar etc.
If someone wanted to take it on a long road trip immediately it is ready to go after checking the engine oil and other liquids under the bonnet. It doesn’t particularly leak any fluids out and has been serviced to a high level over the years. There were no observations on its last MOT although it did get a new middle and rear exhaust system, front shocks and rear roll bar bushes. In the past whilst in my ownership it has also had a new radiator and intercooler, alternator and wolf extended wing mirrors and arms fitted plus a few other bits and pieces I can’t remember. At the same time the gearbox was replaced it automatically had a new clutch, cover and release bearing fitted.

Reason for selling is only because it is too small for moving panels any more and I have enough Land Rovers to keep me going for a while!!!
It is still on the road and the mileage will increase slightly before it has a new owner. The cab will also be cleaned somewhat as it has not been done since the LRO show at Belvoir Castle in early September. The last three photographs are just historical ones for information.
Viewing would be worthwhile, cleared funds will be required before it leaves me, delivery could be arranged dependent on where you are. This vehicle was bought as I just loved the design of it and it was perfect for the use I gave it. Everyone who sees it comments on what a fantastic camper it could be made into, however, this idea doesn't fit into my lifestyle so it no longer has a use for me regrettably. Mechanically it has been carefully maintained and could be used immediately on any long road trip or expedition.
