Here we have for sale my Mexican VW Beetle ‘Betty’, with a fuel injected 1600 engine, perfect for someone who wants a cool classic look with the reliability of a modern car. I’ve owned the car since 2014 and it’s a real head-turner.
Built in Mexico the car was imported and modified to RHD by Beetles UK Limited and first registered in the UK in 2000. In 24 years it has done only 70k km (43k miles). The cars ride and height hasn’t been lowered or modified and sits how it would when it came out of the factory in Mexico. It looks great sitting on its Minilite-style alloy wheels (there’s even a spare!). All servicing and work has been carried out by professional mechanics and I have plenty of history and receipts to go with the car.
The original paint code is Galactic Blue Pearl LG7V, which is a great colour that changes the more you look at it and under different light - all panels are straight and tidy.
Full disclosure - The exterior has age related marks for a car that has been used daily with some scratches, some minor surface rust in a couple of the usual places and the clear coat has got thin in some places. The windscreen is a factory fitted heated screen which does have a crack on the drivers side at the bottom - however it has been glued and will crack no further - this does’t effect the MOT certification (it has passed ever since I’ve owned her) Please see pictures for for detail.
The out the factory (apart from a carpet upgrade) is very high spec leather interior which is in excellent condition for its age. Factory fitted electric sunroof, electric windows and immobiliser make this a very modern classic. The car has just been serviced and MOT'd in September.‘Betty’ is a great everyday car. It’s a very reluctant sale, but sadly we don’t get the chance to use the car like we used to, and I would like her to go to someone who has the time to look after her!
