History: There are some cars which, despite a confidential distribution, succeed in the tour de force of marking a whole generation of children (that of the 80s). This is the case of the JP4/ JP5 manufactured by the company CAR Système, based in Redon. In 1982, Car Système Style offered a new variant of its JP5, the JP5 Baja. While the base remained that of the Renault 4, shortened by 27 cm, it was the Renault 4 GTL that formed the foundation. It inherited the 1108 cm3 engine with its 34 bhp. the JP5 is distinguished above all by its more eccentric styling than the jp4. It is offered here in red with a white soft top on the rear of the roll bar. The latter, with its broad design, contributes to both rigidity and safety, while at the same time acting as a windsurf rack. Between the roof and the roll bar, removable panels serve as a roof in rainy weather. A number of accessories distinguish it from the JP4: polyester bodywork (with the exception of the windscreen surround), bonnet encompassing the widened wings, R4 F6-style rear lights, wide delta mix wheels, bucket seats, revised radiator grille, floor-mounted gear lever, specific dashboard and instrument console taken from the R5 PH2 . A deflector on the upper lip of the windscreen reduces aerodynamic turbulence. A shield under the engine protects the powertrain from off-roading, thanks to the car's light weight and short wheelbase. Unlike the JP4, the JP5 can be bought directly without having to buy a Renault 4, which has to be taken to Car Système Style for modification. But at F45, 000 in 1983 (€13, 300), compared with a Renault 4 GTL worth just 31, 600 (€9, 300), only 20 cars were sold, and only 5 are currently roadworthy. Trade-in or exchange possible.
