ere we have for sale my Peugeot 205 GTI 1. 6 in black. It’s the non sunroof model with non power assisted steering. Simple but really fun car. Has the 115bhp engine which still revs cleanly, goes really well and is used regularly for local driving only.
It has covered only 87k over the last 33yrs, and has had just 3 previous owners. I have owned the car for 2 years during which time it has undergone a light refurbishment to get it into the condition it is today. Only reason I’m selling is to enable getting another car.
The previous owner had the car for over 20yrs, and was largely in storage from 2007 before being recommissioned 2015 which has really helped the low mileage.
Work that has been done during my ownership:
- New cambelt and Serviced at 85, 740 and 86, 872
- Brakes overhauled and new master cylinder also new exhaust.
- Bodywork including all new lights to the front, new bonnet, bumpers and original dealer plates.
- Interior has been re-trimmed in half leather with original manufacturer spec cloth from France which has really made a fantastic difference to the inside.
- All wheels machined and refurbished to a high standard.
There are plenty of previous receipts etc however no service book as it was lost by the previous owner. There is partial service history with receipts showing servicing which go back to 2015 and some MOT’s that go back to 2006. It has never concerned me to be honest as it’s clearly been well maintained over the years.
Bodywork is pretty good overall but it does have the odd imperfection and blemish here and there. The colour is strong and the car looks really great when out and about, but is not concours standard as it stands I would say.
Overall really solid car and that has been looked after over its lifetime, a usable classic and makes for a great but fun investment - have thoroughly enjoyed owning it! Not many left around this mileage which is always a bonus.
