FOR SALE 1960 MGA Roadster which is an original RHD UK supplied car. It has Old English White paintwork with black interior and black hood. It comes with the original brown registration log book, maintenance manual and a comprehensive history file including many maintenance/ service receipts and MOTs
Interestingly this car was one of a few white MGA roadsters that were involved in a 1985 advertisement for a brand of cigars. The history file includes newspaper/ magazine extracts detailing this event as well as some photographs.
It was sold by specialist MG dealer Simon J Robinson in 1982 after undergoing its first restoration it was sold and retained by that owner for approximately 34 years who then sold the car back to the same dealership and it was purchased by me in November 2016.
The car was restored again in 2018 to a high standard including quality body repairs and a full respray. It had a full engine/ gearbox refurbishment and refurbishment of many other components. The car has had little use since this time. Details are shown in the 12-page restoration manual contained in the history file.
Since the 2018 restoration the car has covered approximately 1, 000 miles and approximately 2, 000 miles overall during my ownership. Using garage receipts, MOT certs and previous owner information (inc. a new speedo) a picture can be developed to show an overall mileage of approximately 77, 000 which although cannot be 100% verified does appear to be a good assessment of total mileage.
All work carried out during my ownership has been done by specialist garages.
The car retains much originality with its 1600 (1588cc) engine and 4 speed gear-box as well as original material covered side screens (not the usual stainless stell ones) In addition it is fitted with a radiator fan to assist engine cooling and an anti-roll bar to assist with steering.
The car was last serviced in April 2024 with MOT running until April 2025
