Being a 2009 model, this is a facelift model which features revised AMG Styling. This example comes with low mileage and low ownership and has some well thought out factory options which set it apart from other examples on the market.
The exterior bodywork on this SLK presents beautifully with no major marks or damage to the paintwork and the car sits on factory optioned 18’’ AMG twin spoke multi-piece light alloy wheels which suit the car perfectly whilst showing off the larger AMG specification front brake calipers, also finished in sliver. The rear features quad AMG exhaust outlets and a discrete rear spoiler. The electrically operated convertible hard top works perfectly and offers roof down motoring at the push of a button within a few seconds.
As with all Mercedes of this era, the cabin of this SLK55 offers a luxury and quality with this example being specified with Black Nappa Leather trim along with some nice factory options including Harmon Kardon surround sound, Air-Scarf and Seat Position Memory.
All trim is in superb condition with no major marks or signs of wear and the factory fitted AMG floor mats remain in superb condition. Other interior features include electrically heated seats, cruise control, colour LCD infotainment screen with live navigation, driver mode selection, electronic stability control, steering wheel controls, manual paddle shift levers and of course, electric roof retraction.
On the road, this low mileage SLK55 feels tight, smooth and responsive as you would expect with light but accurate controls, and sure-footed handling. The 7-speed auto transmission makes for easy everyday driving whilst the steering wheel mounted paddles offer manual gear selections should the road open up and the mood take. As you would expect, the car pulls extremely well in each gear and makes progress with ease and surefooted handling as with any AMG. 0 to 62mph can be achieved in under 5 seconds and the AMG will reach 155mph should you find yourself on the German autobahn or a private runway!
The best part of any SLK however is the option to go topless whenever the weather and your mood suits. Be it a hot summers day or a crisp fresh autumn morning with the heater and air-scarf on full warm, dropping the convertible roof and listening to AMG’s fabulous V8 exhaust note behind you stirs the senses and never gets boring.
