Description
A 1964 Volvo 122 'Amazon' Saloon. In-line 1, 778cc engine mated to a later five-speed Volvo gearbox from a Volvo 240. Just drove a 2 hour trip in September without fault.
Mileage is a typo, it's 106, 000. around 2, 000 miles since the engine rebuild.
Car isn't without fault and needs a little work to bring it up to scratch as with any classic car that's 60 years old. Mechanically it's good, engine runs well and the car drives no issue.
Rust wise, it's solid underneath and in the arches etc, just a few bits of rust on the bonnet and bootlid, and front and rear panel. spare bonnet and bootlid provided with the car. There is also a repair patch on the rear quarter that has been primed but not painted, i have included a photo of this.
Just had a new alternator and wiring fitted along with a new timing belt, kit provided by brookhouse volvo, New front lights and rubber seals, new carb filters and other service bits. One thing to note is the brakes are spongey. The door card also has wear in the bottom corner. All needed parts to bring this car up to scratch are widely available and more from brookhouse volvo.
Runs and drives well. MOT and tax exempt.
