Description

Here for sale my Gallardo that I’ll be very sorry to see go. I’m as intoxicated by its combination of truly epic soundtrack and sense of occasion when driving, as I was on my first day of ownership and what moved me to search out a good one 7 years ago.
There have been 6 owners before me (one being registered against the garage I bought from and one being an intermediary, so 4 in reality). I wanted to give myself the enjoyment of bringing the car up to as near concours condition throughout as I could. I hope the photos show the exceptional level of detailing and the pastime it’s been for me while I’ve also added about 4, 000 miles of totally enjoyable miles onto it.
Maybe not to everyone’s taste, but I’ve made what I consider to be a few highly worthwhile improvements over the years:
• Fitment of a Fluid Motor Union (FMU) cat-back crossover exhaust from the USA.
• Replacement of the cats with model-specific, Larini high-flow catalytic converters.
• An upgrade of the largescale air box with twin trumpet carbon air filters from Italy.
• A Superleggera rear wing, exactly colour-matched to the Grigio Altair factory paint

I’ve retained all original Lamborghini / removed parts which have been dry-stored in excellent condition. These would be sold with the car to allow any choice of return to standard spec if desired.

The exhaust sound from the early 5ltr V10’s of the Gallardo has always been a draw for me and to this end I’d also bought and experimented with a Tubi ‘loud’ exhaust (not the extra loud version) that they sell (code the details belowR). This didn’t quite hit the mark, hence my subsequent fitting of the FMU system which I believe is fantastic when coupled with other upgrades to the cats and air box (+ the manual ‘box), giving a sound of shifts that have to be experienced to be believed! It’s also worth noting that these weren’t carried out without careful research and none of the changes result in any engine-related warning lights coming on. The Tubi exhaust is also available with the car for an amount that can be negotiated if wanted, otherwise I’ll sell separately (it’s only covered about 1, 600 miles).

I’ve never driven the car in the rain and it’s been kept in a dry garage for all the time I’ve had it. It’s been routinely serviced by Emblem Sportscars of Dorset who know the car well. This complements a full service history from new, which commences with 7 Lamborghini stamps followed by specialist garage maintenance. All logs and stamps up-to-date and retained. I also have a comprehensive folder of ownership with parts, work, receipts, etc.

Some other notable points include:

• All alloys were professionally and fully refurbished during August 2023.
• A set of Pirelli P-Zero’s were added at the wheel refurb time, so only about 300 miles on them.
• The last, full service was carried out by Emblem in May 2024, also approx. 300 miles ago.
• A full custom-fit garage car cover will also be part of the sale.
• Complete also with the original toolkit / bulb set and emergency tyre inflation cannister, which slot into under bonnet positions.
• The car comes with factory-fitted CD changer and TV reception module. (I removed these for minor weight saving but they would be simply connected back in for sale, again within the under-bonnet access area).
• Because of its year / model it falls within what I don’t think is an overly disastrous tax-band – currently £415 for 12 months.
Overall, this is a fabulous example of a rare manual Gallardo which is up to show standard (where I’ve taken it a couple of times this summer and it always gets tonnes of interest). It also, nevertheless, continues to be of a condition that’s now easy to keep this way, if used weekly. This has been my approach as I’ve looked to keep driving it, but while also bringing it up to a superb condition.
If you’ d like more than just my word on the car - I do recommend you go straight to October 2024's EVO magazine to what I think is a such an accurate feature on the 2004 Gallardo, but I would say that wouldn't I.
Happy to provide any more information or specific extra photos if needed.
