Description
1994 Mercedes W124 Cabriolet Special AMG Edition - a total of £6000 spent additionally on this W124 taking the total initial cost to just over £50k.
Reason for selling? Just reducing my collection.
An A1 factory supplied AMG edition, although I haven’t been able to establish how many were released by the factory. This W124 has a totally different look to the standard cabriolet, it turns heads for sure!
Mechanically it has been very well looked after and serviced and has a large file of servicing invoices, MOT certificates dating back to 2001. Whilst I’ve owned it (now for 2 years) I have had Brembo discs and pads fitted, new roof, fully serviced at correct intervals to include full gearbox filters, seals etc. I made sure this car was even more boring got reliable to carry me around Northern France last year. A faultless drive, most recently shown in Kenilworth when I attended the National Mercedes weekend for W124 owners. This was the only AMG Cabriolet entrant being a very rare edition and caused a lot of interest as most of the members there weren’t aware that there was such an edition.
I didn’t enter my car to be judged, but Mr Neville Wright and Simon Harrison who were judging took the time to have a very in depth look at this car and I’m sure they’d remember it and give a brief independent evaluation of it!
These two gentlemen value W124s for insurance purposes aswell. I picked Neville’s brain on what I could realistically advertise my car for and he didn’t have to give it much thought - he said “late teens” without hesitation.
Anyone who makes the effort to come and view the car could make a very near offer.
You won’t be disappointed! I would also deliver this reliable W124 anywhere.
