Description
MGC GT 1969
Well cared for MGC GT being sold to accommodate new project. The car was originally supplied by University Motors and is believed to be one of two that were resprayed (bare shell) before sale in Black Tulip, along with a period vinyl roof and full length Webasto Sunroof, it is also believed the Wood and Picket Walnut dash was also fitted at this time. (This is from personal memory of ex University Motors employee, who remembered the car as a demonstrator). The car is complete with overdrive and factory wire wheels, and Black leather front seats. A Moto-Lita style wood rim steering wheel has been fitted at some point.
The car has a Heritage Certificate.
Built 17/ 25th February 1969
Dispatched to University Motors 12th November 1969
First registered 21st December 1970
It is taxed as a Historic Vehicle, and has a current V5
The car is an older restoration approx. 10 years ago when it had new cills and a full respray along with a rebuilt gearbox amongst other work. Recent work includes a complete braking system overhaul with rebuilt brake servo by Past Parts, new front calipers with pads and rear brake shoes and cylinder. The Luminition Magnetronic Electronic Ignition was also replaced earlier this year.
It does appear to have lived most its life in a garage. It also comes complete with a large history file dating back to the early 1980’s. The car has had seven previous keepers (myself for the last 7 years) with the keeper prior to myself being Anthony Hamilton father of Lewis. Factory workshop manual for the car will also be included.
