Description
Here we have my Mazda MX5 Eunos, Low mileage at 72k with around 6 months MOT left. Resprayed in A15 Sparkle Red, upgraded wide alloys, adjustable coilovers, proper heavy duty roll bar, reinforced front bumper, sony xplod stereo with USB Bluetooth etc, upgraded air filter, IL motorsport bonnet lifter kit, colour matched hardtop, momo steering wheel, razo carbon fiber gearknob, LED headlights plus the usual Eunos benefits of the higher bhp engine, power steering, electric windows etc.
Condition wise the car is very good, the previous owner had the car resprayed from silver, undersealed and all areas of concern addressed – sills and arches are solid metal with no rust issues. MOT history for the car is very clean with no advisories on last few MOT’s . No dents at all on the car only the odd minor blemish, paintwork holds up really well and respray included under bonnet, door frames etc so done properly. The vehicle also recently had a new windscreen and windows seals.
Previous owner was getting the car ready to be tracked but never did, hence the lower ride height, front bumper reinforcement and proper roll bar (not one that will flatten you in an accident), both nice upgrades to have even off the track. Driving wise the care drives great, revs freely with the exhaust and air filter definitely help the engine breathe a bit better than a standard car, it is a bit low for my liking – it comes with the spanner to adjust the ride height, and if keeping it for general road use I would perhaps raise it a little to improve speedbump clearance and comfort, although its fine when slowing down. Handles amazingly the wheels and tyres are extra wide so lots of grip in the corners, tyres look almost new.
Only negatives, the passenger window moves a little but then stalls, the driver’s side works fine but is a bit slow – probably the rails need greasing or the regulator, fairly straightforward to remedy. The soft top was removed by the previous owner– but simple to fit a new one on the rails if you were inclined as it would just bolt straight in.
I’m an MX5 enthusiast and owner’s club member and have owned many MX5’s over the years. I was hoping to get down the track but due to time constraints just never got round to it, I have a few too many cars at the moment so rather than leave it parked up I’ve decided to put it up for sale. I was attracted to the nice colour, lack of rust and clean history of the car. Despite being geared for the track the car is perfectly usable on the road and I drove it 150+ miles around the Whales hills a couple of months ago.
Priced to sell, especially considering the hardtop and alloys are worth £1k+ on their own. Price of low mileage clean examples is going up each year so there really isn’t a scenario where you could lose out. Car grabs a lot of attention, gets many positive comments and really has some presence on the road! Viewing and test-drive is welcomed, strictly no time-wasters, if you are not sure about buying a MK1 MX5 or are just browsing car please do not waste my time or your own. Any questions please just ask.
