Description
1999 Porsche Boxter, with just under 35, 000 miles since new and two owners for the past 18 years.
It has the glass rear window conversion, and is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic with Grey Hide and Black electric foldaway roof.
The car has an MOT valid until April 2025, and passed with no ‘major’ or ‘dangerous’ defects.
The bodywork is in excellent condition, as is the interior trim.
The car currently has an issue with the gearbox, so the engine can be started and runs fine, but there is an intermittent fault where it is not possible to select drive/ reverse with the gear selector, meaning that the car cannot be driven when this fault occurs. This is the reason for the low asking price compared to other low mileage Boxters.
Please contact with any questions, or to arrange a viewing. The Porsche had an early mishap which ironically ensured its longer-term preservation. In 2000, the car suffered an engine fire with its original owner and was then sold on by insurers to a skilled engineer who effectively stripped the car and rebuilt it with correct parts for personal use. In 2006 the Boxter was sold on in concours condition to a neighbour who had followed the project with interest and owned it until 2022. In 2011 it was driven to his holiday home in Mallorca for pleasure use on visits. Being dry stored in this favourable climate and driven only in fine weather, this explains the low mileage and present condition of the bodywork/ interior.
