Description
Triumph TR4A-IRS 1966 RHD - An exemplary and cherished near original Triumph TR4A finished in white. Heritage certificate authenticates the car as being a genuine UK car that was built in LHD configuration and exported to Switzerland. Car Chassis number CTC/ 68484-LO; Body Number 66789/ CT; Engine Number CT/ 68681-E. The Car returned from Switzerland in the 1980 and was converted to RHD and restored over several years up to 2018. The engine has been rebuilt with new liners, crank, shells etc. The Overdrive and Gearbox was reconditioned and the chassis – which was perfect – was cleaned and painted. The Bodywork is excellent with no corrosion and original panels. When the panels were resprayed, the panels were blasted, dressed and assembled as a bare metal body and fitted to the chassis to ensure the gaps were as perfect as possible. It was then dismantled and sprayed, then reassembled.
Rear driveshafts have been refurbished with many new parts including seat and interior trim, carpets, hood and a hood cover, new voltage regulator, coil and instrument voltage stabilizer. Mechanically, the car has been deliberately kept as original as possible with the only concession to modern standards being a canister oil filter.
Nevertheless, she drives beautifully with strong oil pressure and low engine temperatures.
