1977 Spitfire non o/ d.
Midnight blue.
Car was fully restored - body off within the last 10 years at a cost of over £10K.
Absolutely NO Rust!
Odometer reads 33000 however believe it has gone round once, so really 133000
Selling as a project.
Car hasn’t moved for a few years, gets started and run up to temp now and again.
Body work has no rust, but has some marks and some solvent pop on paintwork. Still presents very well, but to make it A1 some bits would need rubbing back and painting.
Engine - had new pistons etc 10 or so years ago. Bit smoky, but does pull well.
Gearbox has been totally overhauled at a cost of £700.
Set of 5 painted wires. All with new barely used Dunlop tires.
Chrome needs attention, was planning to send it off to be re chromed but won’t now as I want to sell the car.
Interior - seats have been restored with all new foam, roof is very nice mohair upgrade.
Dash is presentable but could do with re-finishing and it has a motolita wood rim wheel.
All photos of the restoration come with the car as well as 2 massive folders of history and parts invoices.
Twin exit sports exhaust fitted including stainless manifold, sounds very nice.
Brakes need attention, stops well but pulls to the right under heavy breaking.
Spax shocks all round and a new rear leaf spring fitted.
Diff needs attention - I was going to get a good second hand from spit bits - quoted £195 for a good used.
Sold as a running and driving project that with a few weekends attention will make an extremely lovely 1500 spitfire.
I don’t have the time to spend on it with a new baby and a toddler taking up my time.
Grab yourself a great car for not a lot of money that can be made beautiful for not a lot more. 2 folders of extensive history.
