Finished in Snowberry White a shade it has always been in with black leather interior, over £6000 has been spent on this 1968 MGC GT over the last 4 years alone, with some of the modifications being a suspension upgrade, 3. 09 differential, gas flowed cylinder head, six branch manifold and Revotec fan. Recent carburettor rebuild, fuel system overhaul and new steering rack, plus regular service and safety checks.

The car was registered in December 1968 and six former registered keepers are noted on the V5C. The history folder is very extensive, spread over three files. There are copies of past V5s, details of previous owners, the Revotec fan instructions and various magazine features relevant to MGCs, plus Mot certificates from 2018 and 2017. As an historic vehicle, the MG is now MoT exempt. The invoices date from around 2017 and testify to a lot of care, attention and expenditure. There's also a spare set of keys.

The MGC looks similar to the MGB and certainly shared most of the body panels, chrome work, trim and many inner structural members. There were however obvious and important engineering differences to make the installation of the hefty six-cylinder engine possible and changes to the running gear to cope with the extra power. In its final form the engine developed 145bhp @ 5, 200rpm and 1701b/ ft of torque @ 3, 400rpm which was a 50% increase over the standard B series engine. There was an all-new full synchromesh gearbox which was shared with the new Mark II MGB that was launched at the same time.

During the MGCs short production run, a total of 8, 999 cars came off the assembly line with a slightly larger proportion of Roadsters (4, 542) than GTs (4, 457). Of these total production figures, 3, 437 were built for the Home Market (1, 405 Roadsters/ 2030 GTs) while 4, 256 were export specification models destined for the North American Market. Only 550 left on the road now making it a rare car. 24660 MGB’s left on the road!
