An exceptional, collector-grade donor was the basis for build 023.
We were lucky to source a just-finished, meticulous nut and bolt rebuild that we have finessed and taken to the next level.
Basis of the build:
The previous owner commissioned a standard rebuild with a renowned Series Land Rover restorer. The right money was spent in the right places, and it shows. These are the perfect donors for PROJECT 88 – The bulkhead was coated with zinc prior to painting to ensure longevity. All original cappings and as many other parts as possible were regalvanised.
Doors, sills, front radiator panel, and the front wing side and front panels were replaced with new components, as were the floor panels, sections of the seat box, and the rear panels on the rear tub. These were all supplied by Paint Man Panels.
Professionally painted in Deep Bronze Green. Other items had been painted in satin black.
The wiring loom was replaced and supplied from Autosparks.
Axles had been fully stripped and refurbished, renewing all bearings and brake components.
The steering relay was renewed, along with all steering joints, and the steering box/ column was also overhauled and painted.
The gear/ transfer box was also stripped and overhauled.
The engine was overhauled and recently serviced. It starts, runs, and drives as it should.
All of the cosmetic trim has also been replaced and/ or reconditioned.
The car sits – as all our Project 88s do – with our wheel and tyre combination, but the factory-correct Michelins are retained.
The detail is simply too extensive to list, as well as ALL the new, correct parts fitted.

Build 023 offers its new custodian the ability to run around with “The Look” but retains the option of easily returning to a stock/ period finish if so desired.
