This particular model had to be a BMW special order at the time due to BMW only making the M535i with the fugly body kit, so discerning buyers who wanted a cleaner look, which was mirrored by the E28 M5, had to make a personal order. She was manufactured in 1986 and first registered on the 5th of February 1987. This car is not to be missed. 99% immaculate condition inside and out . HPI clear. Original paint and panels , a true survivor. BBS M5 alloys.(Have all centre caps) Never been welded anywhere, underside and body are amazing. This car has been pampered, kept garaged and clearly not driven though the winter. 90k miles, substantial service history, has been done buy myself in my ownership and also by the previous owner. Seven years ago I travelled to Yorkshire to buy this off a BMW enthusiast (he had George Michael's old E28 M5) I proceeded to upgrade the very tired original suspension with German quality parts including H&R springs , Bilstien shocks plus Ireland Engineering top mount and Ireland Engineering front rear anti roll bars (upgrade over M5 ARB's) and heavy duty drop links. Added a very high quality FritzBitz SS Manifold with full system and gives the soundtrack this straight Six should have came with from the factory (beefy yet staying classy), a drop in K&N panel filter and super rare performance chip to maximise the breathing upgrades. She's now a very capable old girl especially having the LSD equipped rear diff, matched to a smooth 5 speed manual. BMW data recording a 0-60 mph time of 7. 2 s and top speed of 140mph provided by 215bhp and 310Nm from the M30 Straight Six, so smooth and revs to 7rpm . Interior is all standard and immaculate with comfort seats, only minor issue is the dash, as has a tiny crack in the usual place . All electrics operational, including the ariel. Hardly been used much as put her off road in winter and have a few other cars in my collection that also get driven In summer. I'm selling off this collection and cashing in to pay off my mortgage. Never thought I'd sell this beautiful piece of motoring history as it's so rare and so hard to find but the aim of early retirement takes presidency. There is a one inch rust spot on the edge of the bonnet and the Interior blower not operating (believe mechanical not electrical, new blower required) I was going to do the bonnet next as it's the only part that lets the car down (£150 full bonnet on eBay) or fix and paint original, but not happened.
This car sold itself to me Seven years ago and I know it will do the same. Come and see her , you genuinely will not be disappointed and if you don't want to take her I'd actually fall over.
