What a find this is, a one owner from new VW Golf Driver which is completely standard.
The Golf was registered on the 18th May 1983 (and is now registered as a historic vehicle) and was purchased from Alan Day Volkswagen of Regents Park and stayed in and around London with Mr Southcombe for the next 41 years.
If you know anything about VWs you’ll know the vast majority of them have been modified but not this one , this one is as it was 41 years ago, it’s never even had a radio or speakers fitted, it still has its spare wheel, jack , parcel shelf etc , it even still has its original dealer plates, dealer sticker and book pack with all the hand books.
Being a ‘Driver’ Model it’s still has all of its original features including :
Arch spats, 175/ 70R13 wider tyres, side stripes , Driver badging , digital clock (still works) , rev counter, 4 spoke steering wheel, adjustable door mirrors, centre consul, golf ball gear knob etc.
It’s in remarkable condition considering it has been a daily driver in London for the majority of the last 41 years, the car has been well maintained and drives beautifully, the engine is spritely , gear change is precise and the clutch is nice and light.
There is a history folder with lots of invoices showing various maintenance over the years and it also has every MOT.
As much as I don’t like the phrase this really is a case of ‘find another’.
This must be one of the most original Golf’s on the market and I doubt there are many that have had only one owner from new.
