"Poppy" 1986 T25, 1. 9 petrol, right hand drive, water cooled, 4 speed, VW Transporter, converted from a high top to a pop top when I bought her in 2010.
Reconditioned engine, new distributor, new water pump, all fitted in 2021. New clutch in 2022, new brake cylinders in 2023. Drivers side body work done in 2020, off side now needs some attention, as shown in warts and all photos. The old interior carpet has been stripped out, I have the new for way stretch carpet and glue, which is included in the price, it just needs fitting. Also included in the price are the JK thermal window mats and a JK winter cover.
I purchased her in June 2010, I have all the maintenance paperwork from that date. She's a great van, fun to drive, a solid and honest vehicle, but she's now of an age that she deserves to be garaged over winter and maintained properly.
She's a driveaway, ready to go project. I have been happily camping in her all summer as is, everything works, but she's also ripe for an update.
Rock and roll bed, gas fridge (never used), double gas hob and grill, sink with foot pump, pop up top with additional sleeping platform. We have had many adventures together over the past 14 years. It's a wrench to let her go, but I moved to a property with no "off road" parking, let alone a garage, so I'm unable to do even the most basic maintenance these days.
She is great fun to drive and is a real head turner. I stripped the old internal carpet out a couple of years ago because it was disintegrating, and bought the replacement four way stretch carpet, but I bottled it when it came to fitting it myself. It's made no real difference to me, however I'm aware she would probably be easier to sell if I had some bunting up!
Every mechanic who has ever worked on her has commented on what a good example she is, and I genuinely believe whoever ends up with her will be pretty chuffed with themselves, especially if they have the time and know how to bring her back to her full glorious self.
