In 1976 the Ferrari 512 BB was one of the early Ferrari road-cars featuring a mid-engine layout. This in combination with the magnificent “Berlinetta Boxer” flat-12 engine which was a further development of the 1964 Ferrari 512 Formula 1 racing car engine. The presented impressive Ferrari 512 BB was sold new in Germany. The car comes complete with a complete history file and a “Fahrzeugbrief” on which all the previous owners are listed. The Ferrari 512 BB was delivered new to Mr. Peter Klein in Euskirchen in 1978. The car was sold to the second owner in 1984 and from then on serviced by Modena Motorsport. In 1992 the car found a new owner in Cologne who had the car painted in “Rosso Chiaro” by Meissner. The car stayed in Cologne with two more enthusiasts before it was sold on to the last German owner.
In May 2009 the engine and the mechanicals were inspected, and the timing belts were renewed by a German Ferrari specialist. A new leather interior was crafted by the renowned firm of Luppi in Modena. In the period 2011-2013 the bodywork was restored from the bare metal, and again painted in the original colour silver metallic. A new high pressure cooling system was fitted, new cooling vents, new window lifters, new rear lights and indicator lights were fitted, and the electrical wiring was refurbished/ renewed. The work was done by a German Ferrari specialist and invoices of Modena motorsport are included. The restoration is documented in two wonderful photo books and on CD. In 2015 this gorgeous Ferrari 512 BB was imported to the Netherlands. In 2016 new shock dampers were fitted (6), front and rear suspension was overhauled, and the drive shafts were overhauled. (Service) invoices from Münsterhuis and Zagari are present. The car was sold to the current owner in 2016. Ever since, the Ferrari was Serviced by S2 Classic Cars.
In 2019 the 512 BB participated in the Concours d’Elegance Paleis Soestdijk in the Netherlands in the class “Super Sports Cars of the 1980s”. The car drives and sounds impressively, and the odometer currently shows 50. 200 kilometres. This Ferrari 512 BB comes with the original toolkit, history file, and photo books. This is a rare Ferrari collector car, only 929 examples were built.
