VOLKSWAGEN SPLITSCREEN
welcome to the sale of my 1966 Volkswagen split screen camper
its originally imported from America and belonged to a hippy look at the dash and fridge photos . this is a left hand drive bus its been in the country a few years, as you can see from the photos this bus is a time warp. Interior was kept as is with a light restoration inside trying to keep as much as possible original new seat coverings new door glass. The fridge works with ice packs the cooker works and so does the tap, inside there's two tables one between the seats and one on the door, there's a full length bed that pulls out on its original hinges. Out side running a 1600 twin port single carb that runs well and had a top end rebuild. stainless steel exhaust. Gearbox is irs , drop spindles on the front. Front and rear safari windows, bugtec shifter the bus is solid and original and its only original once and it holds its character. Last year it had new tyres all round all brakes looked at and replaced, new wheel bearings, the dash is uncut as you can see from the photos so that's the good stuff
bad bit is there's a small hole look at photo that I've treated and covered with tape to stop any more water going in while I used it . the bus is always stored away in my unit .
my plan for the winter was to cut out the damage and replace where needed but other things are higher on the list to do hence the for sale, the bus is solid where it matters front panel, gutters front peak out riggers, cab floorshistory comes with the bus ... stp oil cans found in bus when I bought it old vw paint tins there is some history with the bus
