Absolutely suberb Range Rover Classic.
The car is a LHD french car. Once imported it was used on a shooting estate in Deeside.
This car was built to my design, to combine what I consider to be the best aspects of all generations with additional custom touches / upgrades to create a fantastic looking vehicle with everyday useability, reliability and performance.
Body
All external panels were removed with the exception of the roof. The structure beneath was found to be in fantastic condition. The only rot was around the mounting holes for the rear window frames where the seal traps water. This was cut out and repaired as per photos. The internal structure was then epoxy primed, painted and waxed.
All 4 wings and lower rear hatch were replaced with new genuine panels. Rear offside wing replaced with the earlier exposed fuel cap. Front wings have no side repeaters.
Suffix front slatted grille, headlight surrounds and bumper were refurbished and fitted. I also added Lucas style tri-bar headlights and a new lower front valance.
New rear bumper with early metal end caps.
New reproduction scuttle 'Range Rover' metal recessed letter badges, black edged rear lights and reproduction 'by Land Rover' badge fitted.
New Blockley tyres which copy the tread pattern of the early cars.
The quality of the paintwork is superb. Better than new. The paintwork was only completed last year and so remains perfect with no stone chips etc. Eastnor Green, the original colour.
Chassis
Excellent original chassis. Never welded. I have never changed the suspension / boge damper as the ride and handling is so good. Coil sprung.
Braking
The entire braking system is new, from Master cylinder and servo, all hard lines, braided flexis, new calipers, pads and discs. Clutch cylinders and hoses also new.
Engine
The 2. 5 litre turbo diesel was rebuilt prior to my ownership. I replaced all the ancilliaries - new original radiator, upgraded Allisport intercooler, alternator, starter, belts, hoses, battery, fuel tank. The engine runs well and performance is excellent, easily keeping up with modern traffic and happy to sit at 70+ on the motorway.
Gearbox
5 speed manual LT77 gearbox. No information to suggest it has ever been rebuilt, however shift quality is excellent.
Steering
New swivels and associated hardwear. New arms, track rod ends and steering damper. New steering shaft and joints / rubbers. Optimill snap off boss and hardened lock.
Interior
Fully sound proofed using dynamat, including the roof. New underlay and new custom made quality carpets.
Full retrim in tobacco leather for the seats, lower door cards and gaiters. Harris Tweed roof liner and front upper and rear door cards / panels. Door cards and rear panels custom made in marine ply and trimmed. There and no rattles whilst on the move. None. The most refined classic I have experienced.
I usually leave the rear seat out as pictured as we go away in the car and sometimes sleep in the back if we are remote.
Electric windows / heated electric mirrors / heated rear window. Everything works as intended.
ICE
New Blaupunkt top end retro stereo with bluetooth etc. Custom speaker install.
Front dashcam and rear parking camera.
Everything else
The car will come with a full MOT without and advisories.
It is LEZ compliant.
The car really needs to be seen in the metal and taken for a drive to be appreciated. I am near to Dundee, Scotland. Happy to collect from the local railway station or airport.
I can arrange reliable, insured transport UK wide, or to a port for export if desired.
The private registration was a present and will be retained prior to completion of sale.
I have owned the car for 5 years or so. I have a small collection of interesting cars, and this is only for sale as we are converting part of the farm steading where it lives into a flat for my mother in law, hence reduced space.
