1989 GMC Vandura - 5. 7L V8 – GT Series
Very rare example of this van, GT Series conversion by Starcraft, proper 80’s vibe, blue velour seats and trim, wooden dash and door trims, mood lighting, chrome bumpers, wing mirrors & wheels, nothing like those plastic versions out there!
Overhead light console & stereo, with overhead TV & VCR! (TV and VCR are not connected and are not UK spec)
• Teak wooden dashboard, Teak interior trim
• 5. 7L V8 engine with auto gearbox with overdrive & cruise control
• Dual chrome side pipe exhausts, great rumbling, loud V8 sound!
• Left Hand Drive, MOT until June 25
• 108, 000 Miles, not bad for a 35 year old van! (was 73k in 2009)
• 7 Seats, Two rows of Captain swivel seats (drivers electric), super comfy, like sitting in an armchair!
• Also a rear bench seat which auto folds down into a bed at the touch of a button. (extra two padded sections make up the large bed)
• Wood top table with metal leg with two positions for centre or rear use
• Dual front and rear Air Con systems, just filled with gas
• 80’s Mood lighting, blinds and curtains
• All fabrication and mechanical work carried out by ATM Engineering in Beeston, Norfolk
• Cleaned and underneath sealed last year at a cost of £1, 000
• This is a very solid van, genuinely 99% rust free! (just a few small surface areas need attention to be 100%)
This year I have updated/ replaced quite a few mechanical parts;
• All remaining rust cut out, fabricated and painted by ATM Engineering
• Most of the blue paint and some of the white re-done
• New door seals all round
• New water pump/ radiator hoses/ radiator professionally flushed/ new thermostat & rad cap
• New starter motor/ battery/ high capacity alternator/ earth & battery to alternator cables
• Digital gauges added for battery & temperature
You will not find a better example in the UK!I Imported this van into the UK in 2009 and over the last 15 years have continued to keep it in great condition, but it’s time to hand over my custodianship to assist with funding an RV/ Camper we want for next year.
