Description
This was going to be a project to work on over the winter period but another project has come up so I'm going for plan B instead.
Tiger Supercat - this kit has been dry stored since being supplied new by Tiger Racing, it's currently a rolling chassis (on build wheels) with the following installed:
- All suspension (front uses inboard adjustable coilovers)
- Rear cage
- Steering
- Brakes (all lines, master cylinder, new front calipers and discs, new rear drums, braided lines)
- Fuel lines & low pressure fuel pump
- Wiring loom
- Diff and drive shafts
- Side panels - first-fixed in place for a dry build so easily removed
It's well on the way to completion, much work has been done with the major outstanding items to install being:
- Engine
- Box
- Lights
- Dash
- GRP body
The GRP is of an unusually high quality and is gel coated red, the side panels are painted aluminium and have been painted to match.
The front arches are black grp, and like the other panels are of a decent quality.
There is a big pile of parts to come with the build, all these are all new and supplied direct from Tiger Racing:
- Fuel tank (plus filler neck and cap)
- Radiator
- Header tank
- Windscreen (glass and frame)
- Mirrors
- Rear lights
- Seat belts
- Dash switch gear
- Speedometer - Tiger branded
- Fuel gauge - Tiger branded
- Four branch side exit exhaust (for a Zetec)
- Prop - Type 9 to Sierra diff
- Seats - Tiger branded
- Rear arch guards
- Plus other bits
The original purchaser had intended to go the Zetec/ Type 9 route but clearly there are many different engines that could be fitted. From the factory the car is quoted as ~630kg (with a Zetec/ Type 9) so achieving an outstanding power-to-weight ratio would not be difficult.
So not a massive job to complete; to put on the road it would need to go through the IVA process and if destined for track use would just need building to your requirements.
Could easily be finished over the winter period and for a modest budget.
