For sale is my Spitfire MKI which I am owning since 2008. The car was restored on a rust free California import to a very high standard. If you know the specifics of this model you will notice that it is in very original condition with many features only available on the MKI.
The color black and the red interior are original to the car according to the Heritage Certificate. The color black was only available for the Spitfire MKI and then never again for the Spitfire. This color is very rare, only a handful original black cars are known to be still existing. Even the engine is matching numbers to the car which is very rare as well.
The car comes with a tonneau cover and the original steel hardtop.
The car was used in the past for the Histo Monte and the Le Jog where it proved it's reliability. You see some improvements on the car for rally use like the period correct reading lamp and the Lucas reversing light (this can be removed without a trace). The car has an improved new wiring harness with more and inside the clove compartment installed fuses. The engine is in stock configuration, the gearbox is an uprated full synchromesh gearbox with an overdrive and a stainless steel exhaust system and an adjustable Spax shock absorbers. In front of the radiator is an electric fan installed with an adjustable thermostat.
Under my ownership many parts were overhauled, mainly the front calipers, steering rack, speedometer and a lead free cylinderhead and of course many bits and pieces and the regular maintainance.
The Spitfire just passed the German MOT without any issues. The true mileage of the car is unknown. It is a rare car in a very special and gorgeous looking color combination.
It is very original with some useful upgrades. It was restored to a very high standard and driving is just a joy.
